1. Information We Collect

At GizmoData, we collect information you provide directly to us, such as when you:

Request information about our products or services
Contact us for support
Subscribe to our newsletter
Use our software products
Create an account or organization in GizmoData Cloud (name, email address and sign-in identity, handled by our identity provider)
Subscribe to a GizmoData Cloud plan (billing details are collected by Stripe on its own secure pages; card numbers never reach our servers)

When you visit gizmodata.com we automatically collect usage information about your visit: the pages you view, how you navigate and interact with them (clicks, scrolling and mouse movement), your browser and device type, approximate location derived from your IP address, and the page that referred you. We collect it with the analytics tools described in Cookies and Analytics below.

When you use GizmoData Cloud we also record service data needed to run and bill the service: the resources you create and their configuration, metered usage (cluster-hours and storage), operational logs and metrics of your clusters, and an audit trail of actions taken in your organization. The data you store or query in your clusters and catalogs is yours; we access it only to provide, secure and support the service, or as required by law.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

Provide, maintain, and improve our services
Process transactions and send related information
Send technical notices, updates, and support messages
Respond to comments and questions
Analyze usage patterns to improve our products and website
Measure the effectiveness of our advertising

3. Information Sharing

We do not sell, trade, or otherwise transfer your personal information to third parties without your consent, except as described in this policy. We may share information in the following circumstances:

With service providers who assist us in operating our business
To comply with legal obligations
To protect our rights and safety
In connection with a business transfer

GizmoData Cloud sub-processors: to run GizmoData Cloud we rely on Clerk (sign-in and account identity), Stripe (payments, subscriptions and invoices), Microsoft (Clarity analytics on the sign-in and sign-up pages), and the cloud providers on which your resources run — Amazon Web Services, Google Cloud and Microsoft Azure — in the regions you choose. Each processes only the data needed for its role under its own security commitments. We do not sell your personal information.

SMS opt-in data: If you opt in to receive text messages from GizmoData, your phone number and SMS opt-in and consent information will not be sold or shared with any third parties or affiliates for their marketing purposes. This information is shared only with the messaging service providers (e.g., our SMS aggregator) strictly as needed to deliver the messages you requested. You can opt out at any time by replying STOP to any message.

4. Data Security

We implement appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect your personal information against unauthorized access, alteration, disclosure, or destruction. However, no method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure.

5. Data Retention

We retain your personal information only for as long as necessary to fulfill the purposes outlined in this privacy policy, unless a longer retention period is required or permitted by law.

7. Cookies and Analytics

We use cookies and similar tracking technologies on gizmodata.com to understand how the site is used and to measure our advertising. We use these services:

Google Analytics — aggregate traffic and engagement statistics (pages viewed, sessions, referrers, and clicks on calls to action).
Google Ads — measures whether visits from our ads lead to a contact request or purchase.
Microsoft Clarity — we partner with Microsoft Clarity and Microsoft Advertising to capture how you use and interact with our website through behavioral metrics, heatmaps, and session replay to improve and market our products and services. Website usage data is captured using first- and third-party cookies and other tracking technologies to determine the popularity of products and services and online activity. Additionally, we use this information for site optimization, fraud and security purposes, and advertising. Clarity also runs on the sign-in and sign-up pages of GizmoData Cloud (app.gizmodata.com), and nowhere else in the GizmoData Cloud application. We configure Clarity to mask the text shown on the page in its recordings, so what you type and read is not captured as text. Your choices. On your first visit, a cookie banner asks whether you accept optional analytics and advertising cookies. If you are in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, Switzerland, Turkey, Quebec, South Korea or China, or your browser sends a Global Privacy Control signal, they stay off until you accept: Google Analytics and Google Ads set and read no cookies and send only cookieless measurement pings, and Microsoft Clarity is not loaded on gizmodata.com at all, so your visit is not recorded. Elsewhere they are on unless you decline, except on our Portuguese site, gizmodata.com.br, where they stay off for every visitor until you accept. We tell where you are from your device's time zone (Google also uses your IP address), and when we can't tell, we keep them off until you accept. If you decline, they stay off on every later visit. You can change your choice at any time with the Cookie settings link at the bottom of every page; declining after they were on deletes the analytics and advertising cookies those services set on gizmodata.com and stops Clarity. You can also block or delete cookies in your browser settings, or install the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on.

Your cookie banner choice also applies to GizmoData Cloud's sign-in and sign-up pages (app.gizmodata.com): we keep it in a cookie on gizmodata.com that those pages read, and pass it to Microsoft Clarity there. If you haven't made a choice, Clarity runs on those pages in its limited, cookie-free mode. You can also block or delete cookies in your browser settings, and the Microsoft Privacy Statement linked above explains how Microsoft handles this data.

8. Third-Party Links

Our website may contain links to third-party websites. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of these external sites. We encourage you to review their privacy policies.

9. Children's Privacy

Our services are not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new policy on this page with an updated "Last updated" date.
